2012 predictions are getting more and more popular everyday as we get closer to the said date. With all these doomsday theories flying around and being manifested online, in movies, in books and on television, it is so easy to get scared out of your wits and start preparing for what they say is the end of the world. Great Flood
The Bible showed that in the time of Noah, he punished the wickedness of man by making it rain for forty days and forty nights and causing a great flood. Though there are no evidence to show that there was indeed a great flood, many people believe this due to their Christian faith. This belief is so embedded that people are now of the notion that when indeed the end of the world will happen, it will happen in the same manner. In fact, in the movie 2012, as if great earthquakes and other natural disasters weren't enough, there was some sort of great flood that covered the Earth - making sure that no human would live through it.
With all the heavy flooding and landslides as well as the weird climate changes, it is so easy to think that this is the signal of the coming great flood or that indeed the 2012 doomsday predictions are going to happen.
Planet Collision/Meteor Shower
This is a bit confusing as we don't really know how this fear came about. Maybe it has something to do with theories concerning the extinction of dinosaurs when it was said that dinosaurs became extinct during a meteor shower. This may be the root of where this fear is coming from. There are also theories however that predict the collision of the earth with another planet that they have termed as Planet X or Planet Nibiru.
Scientists however discount these theories for any heavenly body that comes anywhere close to the Earth can be easily detected. A possible planet collision next year should already show now but there are no signs whatsoever of the said planet. Also, scientist could see an oncoming meteor and plot out its trajectory. A comet that will cross the path of the Earth should already be seen by now.
